NutriScan (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the NutriScan mobile application.

1. Overview

NutriScan allows users to scan food ingredient labels and receive AI-powered ingredient analysis and health scoring based on selected goals.

We do not require user accounts and we do not collect personally identifiable information.

2. Information We Process

A. Photos You Capture or Select

When you scan a food ingredient label:

• The photo is transmitted securely over HTTPS to our backend server.
• The image is forwarded to OpenAI’s API for real-time ingredient recognition and analysis.
• Images are processed transiently and are not stored after analysis is completed.
• We do not retain copies of uploaded images on our servers.

Photos are used solely to generate ingredient analysis and scoring results.

B. Fitness Goals

You may optionally select fitness goals (such as Muscle Gain, Clean Eating, Gut Health, etc.).

• These preferences are stored locally on your device.
• Selected goal labels may be sent as text along with a scan request to personalize analysis.
• We do not store or associate these goals with any identity.
